Borden is an inhabitant of the town of Bose.
He's a very influential merchant who lives in the southern section of Bose together with his wife and son. His family's been in the trading business in Bose for generations and Borden's all too happy to be continuing that tradition, wishing for his son to eventually succeed him. He is, however, far from the only merchant in Bose who's trying to maximize his influence in town. Both Mirano and her father Trino are engaged in a fierce competition with him over the position of number 1 merchant in town. This rivalry was already present when he and Trino were kids as they were always fighting back then as well.
When the Capua Sky Bandits hijack the Linde and the Royal Army shuts down all air traffic, the ban puts a heavy strain on his profits and at some point he resorts to trying to take some of Trino's deals for himself while the latter is missing, only for Mirano to shame him into backing off. Despite his intense rivalry with the Trino family, he admits there's something missing without Trino around to compete with him.
Contrary to the Trinos, he likes to carefully and rationally analyze the situation before doing business instead of relying on his commercial instincts to see him through.
Relations
Borden is the husband of Rionne and the father of Alvelle.
He's also an acquaintance and a business rival to both Mister Trino and Mirano.
