The Tyrant

The Tyrant (大君, lit. "Taikun"), also known as the Dominating Zodiac (覇道の宿星魔人, lit. "The Tyrannical Zodiac Demon"), is a demonic entity featuring in 영웅전설 여의 궤적.

Appearance

As a man, the Tyrant strongly resembles Aaron Wei with long red hair and slim yet athletic build. As a demonic entity, the Tyrant is a tall humanoid figure with charcoal gray skin covered in dragon tattoo-like markings, an ornate mask, long flowing scarlet hair and elaborate tattered hakama with scale armour plates and tassels. The Tyrant has large reptilian feet and claws.

Background

A prophecy exists that every 40 years or decades to centuries, an absolute power would emerge to lead the easterners to new heights. This individual could help, guide and subordinate all easterners, including Heiyue. It is described as a ruler, soldier, liberator and leader, a man gifted with extraordinary charisma surpassing all mortals, and a demon. His title was held with awe and dread.

Approximately 40 years before 영웅전설 여의 궤적, the Tyrant, known then as Lagun Khan, ruled over the area around Langport with an iron first from his throne in the Heilong Cheng Zhai. This was the period following the Orbal Revolution and he led with remarkable skill. It is thought that the prosperity of easterners and their increasing influence was due to his impact. Heiyue and the Yin of the time were both under his command, with Gien Lu being a survivor. The Tyrant also utilized the third Genesis during his rule.

The Tyrant's rule eventually became corrupt. He single-mindedly made just decisions, but they were devoid of any emotion. He created what he thought just to create, and destroyed what he thought just to be destroyed. He became so inhuman that it seemed he even had control over his own soul, a true Demon.The Republic's government intervened, but even they could not stop him. Fear began to gnaw away at the Glimmering City. He used the Septium veins to suppress his people. One of the consequences of his reign was the existence of supernatural mists that allowed demons to exist, not unlike Pandemonium. The demons are said to have been invisible and drained people of their life force. Opponents that he kills would be turned into ghouls under his control.

After growing too fearful of the Tyrant's tyranny, Heiyue's elders of that generation could withstand the fear no longer and betrayed their 'master'. After a deadly battle, Heiyue and Yin imprisoned the Tyrant within a cell in the Heilong Cheng Zhai where he remained until he died in solitude. The Genesis was sealed away with him.

The elders influenced the population to spread rumours about the Stronghold to keep people away from it, stating it was filled with fiends and demons.

영웅전설 여의 궤적

Almata use the third Genesis to reactivate the memories of the Heilong Cheng Zhai and force Aaron Wei, who is the reincarnation of the Tyrant, into the entity. They succeed partly in fact due to Gien conspiring to let them get hold of the Genesis in order to obtain the Tyrant and have him lead Heiyue into a new age.

The Tyrant initially lashes out at Viola and Alexandre due to Aaron's residual memories. Van Arkride and the party confront him and after Aaron has an internal battle with the Tyrant, he reverts back to his human form and ends his rampage.

영웅전설 여의 궤적 II

The Tyrant is briefly encountered as a boss alongside Ghoul Aida in an observation of what might have been in the Oct-Radium and final battle against Grendel Zolga.
