Bergard Zeman (ベルガルド・ゼーマン) is a martial artist introduced in 영웅전설 여의 궤적. He is a master of the Kunlun style, one of the three great Eastern martial arts. Van Arkride is his secret disciple.

Introduction

영웅전설 여의 궤적

A muscular old man who is a master of the Kunlun style, one of the East's three great martial arts schools. He has a number of disciples scattered across the continent. He used to travel around Zemuria for his job, but he has since left his old organization and abandoned his former name. Now, he leisurely travels around the country, living a comfortable retirement. Years ago, he took Van on as one of his apprentices and taught him proper martial arts. He didn't seem to have any objections to Van starting work as a spriggan. When the war between the Erebonia and Calvard began, Van received news that Bergard had lost his life in an incident, but that seems to have not been the case...

영웅전설 계의 궤적

A well-built man who once served as a traveling priest for the Septian Church. Due to his position as a master of the Kunlun school, one of the three major martial arts of the East, he has acquired a great number of disciples across the continent, including Van. Concerned as he was about the younger man's unusual upbringing, he made sure to guide him rigorously in not only combat, but life as well. Though Bergard departed to the East after helping to the resolve the incidents related to the Geneses in 1208, he has recently returned to offer Arkride Solutions his aid once more.

Appearance

Bergard is a broad, muscular elder man with bushy white hair including a moustache and beard. He has light brown eyes, one of which is covered with a brown eyepatch and features a massive scar. Bergard wears a burgundy coat and shirt with a white scarf cravat and ripped brown-gray jeans with matching boots. A golden belt buckle with an elaborate golden lion design is visible on his belt. He uses gauntlets in combat.

Personality

Bergard lives life the way he has always wanted to, having retired and abandoned his real name, titles and most of his responsibilities. Despite this, he feels a great deal of responsibility and a duty to his former disciples and wishes to support them to the best of his ability.

He originally left his position to allow them to grow, amongst other reasons but views some situations as something he cannot ignore. Bergard is ferocious in combat and is not hesitant about calling people out should they be acting foolishly or in his way.
