It was July, and the summer heat was intensifying. Both Thors campuses were conducting their midterms. When the four-day exams ended, Principal Aurelia arranged for joint swimming lessons. Rean and the other instructors joined the students for some post-exam relaxation, with a competition at the end. Rean returned to his room after he finished grading the exams, where he received word from Elliot and Gaius that all members of the old Class VII would be gathering in Heimdallr during the Summer Festival. Though Rean could not give them a definite answer just yet, he told them he'd call again once he found out the location of the upcoming field exercises at the briefing the next day.

The next day, Tita and the students of Class VII took on Professor Schmidt's Keep trial with the intention of testing Tita's Orbal Gear while Rean took over Tita's usual role. After seeing them safely through the Keep, he attended the briefing. Sara, Fie, Laura, and Laura's father--Viscount Victor Arseid, the Radiant Blademaster--were all in attendance. They learned that their next field exercises would take place in Heimdallr. There, the branch campus would collaborate with the Bracer Guild, the main campus, and the Courageous to put a stop to the schemes of a rival country. After the briefing, Rean and the others sparred with Viscount Arseid and Principal Aurelia before they were due to leave. He saw them off to the station and returned to the dorm to rest.

The next day, the exam results for Thors' main and branch campuses were announced, and Class VII finished with top marks. Soon after, Panzer Soldat training began. Altina was able to handle the Goliath, a model on temporary loan from the Imperial Army, better than anyone. But after a mock battle with the other Class VII members, she entered a trance state and lost control. Rean was somehow able to stop her with Valimar, but a floating sphere hovering nearby surveilled the incident before disappearing. After the incident with the Goliath, Major Michael announced the location of the next field exercises. Juna and the others later comforted Altina, who was rattled by her earlier loss of control. Rean watched the conversation from a distance, happy to see his students support each other.
