엘자임

The Principality of Elsaim (エルザイム公国) is a country located in central east Zemuria. It is bordered to the west by the Shirin Desert of Calvard and overlooks a sea to the south.

History

Elsaim has been a leading power in the central east since ancient times. Despite the harsh climate of droughts, Elsaim's territory is blessed with a wealth of natural resources, like Septium and oil to fuel pre-Orbal Revolution engines. Elsaim has been exporting its technology to neighbouring nations for many years, including the Republic of Calvard.

Geography

Elsaim is located in the Middle east of Zemuria. To the west is Calvard and the Shirin Desert. Tharbad is the closest city.

Government & Politics

The current head of state is Grand Prince Salman Asverl (サルマン・アスヴァール公王). First in line of succession is his son, Prince 쉐리드 아스발, and second in line is his daughter, 지타 아스발. Elsaim is an aristocracy, with noble families each ruling a region of the country. Elsaim also knows an influential order of chivalry, which consists of skilled fighters who mastered the traditional swordsmanship.

The capital city of Elsaim is the City of Ludos (公都ルドス), home of the state-owned Ludos Bank.

International relations

Ties with Calvard date back to the Calvard Kingdom when Elsaim exported its technologies and sciences to Calvard. Most notably astronomy during the Middle Ages and contributed to the founding of Basel Institute of Science‏‎. The profound partnership with Calvard continues into the current age with a mutual beneficial focus on commerce, trade and finance. Elsaim has been an accelerator of the orbal film industry, investing in film companies and festivals alike. Tharbad is considered the bridge between the two nations. Elsaim is also a major shareholder of the Verne Company, one of the reasons Prince Sherid approached 반 아크라이드 to investigate the company in 영웅전설 여의 궤적, 제4장 "재앙의 프로토콜".

The city-state Valis, also situated on the southern sea, has seen rapid growth and development in recent years. Elsaim and Valis are now vying for economic supremacy in the region, causing instability and proxy wars between the nations.

Infrastructure

Science & Technology

Elsaim are heavily invested in orbal technology development. They are a major shareholder in the Verne Company, although not the primary investor and have injected huge amounts of funding into the company. Prince Sherid sits as a director of the Basel Institute of Science.

The Principality are capable of using airships. The Crown prince makes use of the Haurvatat, his personal aircraft.

Demographics

The majority of the population follow Alusha, the flame Goddess and interpretation of Aidios. Therefore, the Septian Church is active there.

Culture

Orbal films are popular in Elsaim. They supported the first ever Tharbad Film Festival in Calvard through their links with VegasFilm which started six months prior to the festival in 영웅전설 여의 궤적.

The Zenith 1 Grand Prix is also very popular. There is an event held in the region. Princess Zita travelled to Calvard to present the award fro the winner of a preliminary race.

A unique from of swordsmanship using a shamshir is practised in Elsaim. Naje Berca is a skilled practitioner in the employ of the royal family.
