The Principality of Elsaim (エルザイム公国) is a country located in central east Zemuria. It is bordered to the west by the Shirin Desert of Calvard and overlooks a sea to the south.
History
Elsaim has been a leading power in the central east since ancient times. Despite the harsh climate of droughts, Elsaim's territory is blessed with a wealth of natural resources, like Septium and oil to fuel pre-Orbal Revolution engines. Elsaim has been exporting its technology to neighbouring nations for many years, including the Republic of Calvard.
Geography
Elsaim is located in central east Zemuria. To the west is Calvard and the Shirin Desert. Tharbad is the closest city.
Government & Politics
The current head of state is Grand Prince Salman Asval (サルマン・アスヴァール公王). First in line of succession is his son, Prince Sherid Asval, and second in line is his daughter, Zita Asval. Elsaim is an aristocracy, with noble families each ruling a region of the country. Elsaim also knows an influential order of chivalry, which consists of skilled fighters who mastered the traditional swordsmanship.

International relations
Ties with Calvard date back to the Calvard Kingdom when Elsaim exported its technologies and sciences to Calvard. The profound partnership with Calvard continues into the current age with a mutual beneficial focus on commerce, trade and finance. Elsaim has been an accelerator of the orbal film industry, investing in film companies and festivals alike. Tharbad is considered the bridge between the two nations. Elsaim is also a major shareholder of the Verne Company, one of the reasons Prince Sherid approached Van Arkride to investigate the company in 영웅전설 여의 궤적, 제4장 "재앙의 프로토콜".
The city-state Valis, also situated on the southern sea, has seen rapid growth and development in recent years. Elsaim and Valis are now vying for economic supremacy in the region, causing instability and proxy wars between the nations.

Elsaim are heavily invested in orbal technology development. They are a major shareholder in the Verne Company, although not the primary investor and have injected huge amounts of funding into the company. Prince Sherid sits as a director of the Basel Institute of Science.
