살바드

Tharbad (サルバッド), also known as Tharbad, the Entertainment City (遊興都市サルバッド), is a city in southeastern Calvard.

Background

Facing the Shirin Desert and Sirene Desert, Tharbad was originally a village renowned for its inn, where traditional dances and music from the Middle East flourished. Improvements to the underground water veins and the increase in availability of water resulted in an urban development plan for the present-day tourist resort. Professor Latoya Hamilton helped develop the waterways beneath the city, leading to Lake Oasis to nearly triple in size, but they dated back to the Dark and Middle Ages, with mural evidence.

Ever since, the city has been divided in two districts: the modern city and the traditional district. The modern city offers a glamorous atmosphere, home to the up-and-coming Vegas Film, six-star hotels and casino. The traditional district retains its original culture with vibrant bazaars, popular among tourists.

Tharbad City has a signature drink, the Tharbad Night- inspired by the desert nights and is a dark blue drink decorated with a star-shaped gold leaf cut meant to capture the night with stars elegantly decorating the indigo sky.

Van Arkride and the Arkride Solutions Office travel to Tharbad at the request of Nina Fenly to provide additional security for the Tharbad Film festival and discover the source of threatening letters to the participants. They provide assistance to Salvatore Gotti to get the festival running, foiling kidnapping attempts and suspicions regarding orbal drugs in order to resolve trouble orchestrated by Almata.
