D∴G 교단 섬멸작전

The D∴G Cult Extermination (D∴G教団殲滅作戦(きょうだんせんめつさくせん)) was an international collaborative operation conducted throughout 제무리아. Its aims were to exterminate the D∴G 교단 in its entirety.

Background

Harold and 소피아 헤이워드, who had taken custody of Renne, finding their friends' place in 칼바드 burnt down. They could not locate Renne among the corpses since she, unbeknown to them, had been abducted.

During the S.1190s, authorities started to receive reports about young children around the age of 5 being kidnapped. The incidents were most common in 칼바드.

International investigation team

Authorities decided to establish an international investigation team to find a common cause in the cases of Calvard and its neighbouring nations. The investigation team consisted of the police department and army of each nation as well as representatives of the 유격사 협회 and the 성배기사단 of the 칠요 교회.

The investigation team was led by the then-A-rank bracer 카시우스 브라이트, supreme commander for the operation, assisted by 칼바드ian bracer 진 바섹.

D∴G Cult

They found that the kidnappings were carried out by a cult that referred itself as D∴G and that it was using 그노시스 for a greater purpose, since "D∴G" means literally "D therefore Gnosis." They also concluded that it involved dozens of children spread over more than ten lodges, where they experimented with 아티팩트s, summoned devils, and experimented on living people, all surrounding the drug Gnosis.

On behalf of the 크로스벨 경찰, 아리오스 매클레인, 세르게이 로우, and 가이 배닝스 were in charge of the lodge near 알타이르 시, a border city between 크로스벨 and Calvard. Guy Bannings managed to rescue 티오 플래토, 8 years old at the time, who was debilitated but still in a far better shape than children in other lodges who had been repeatedly exposed to experiments. Many could no longer be saved.

군터 바르크호른, Eighth 수호기사 of the Gralsritter, led the Septian Church's contribution to the operation, and in one raid he rescued a 14-year-old 반 아크라이드 from the clutches of the cult and helped the young man recover from his ordeal.

Although each lodge required its own approach from the operation, the outcome of each raid would be consistent. The majority of the arrested cult members committed suicide, and the rest suffered major mental breakdowns. The investigation team also discovered a vast amount of heavily mutilated corpses of children that was experimented on in the name of a "ceremony."

The operation successfully managed to exterminate the body of the cult. Some cultists managed to escape, however, and awaited their chance for the cult's revival from the shadows.

Other extermination attempts

Separately from the D∴G Cult Extermination mission, there have been other efforts to exterminate the cult. In S.1196, on behalf of 우로보로스, 레온하르트 and 요슈아 아스트레이 raided the lodge named Paradise, where they found 렌 헤이워드 and took her in.

As a recently appointed 성배기사단, 케빈 그라함 also infiltrated a lodge where he found a boy named Elmer that was beyond salvation. Kevin had to put him out of his misery.

Aftermath

The mission itself was locked away as a top-secret mission because of its sensitive contents.

In recognition of his efforts as the commander and leader of the extermination, 카시우스 브라이트 was promoted to the coveted 유격사 rank of S; by S.1202, he had been one of only 4 S-ranked Bracers in the continent.

요아힘 귄터 managed to escape the extermination attempts but was later killed after an unsuccessful attempt to kill the SSS in S.1204.

Soon before the extermination efforts, a cult Prince named 제라르 당테스 had managed to successfully extract and claim the powers of a diabolic core extracted from one of the cult victims. He used this power to escape and survive the extermination operations by both Ouroboros and Cassius. However, unlike Joachim, Gerard held no particular affinity for the cult, and decided to join a mafia organization after it was destroyed to seek out power on his own.

Following the cult's extermination, Ouroboros's Fourth 앙기스 엘로이 하우드 facilitated its remnants merging with the remnants of another recently destroyed organization, the 월광목마단, to form 정원. Two children Gerard fathered while in the cult were taken in by and raised in the Gardens.
