Background

After using the Recluse Cube to activate the Hermit's Garden, Kevin and Ries are transported to the Jade Corridor, having to fight off fiends. Investigating, they find a Sealing Stone, which they unleash back and the garden, freeing Tita Russell. With Tita, they continue investigating the Corridor until they find the Arseille, suspended in a nonfunctional state.

Inside the Arseille, Tita is able to open the door to the bridge, which contains the Sealing Stone for Julia Schwarz. The four continue to the end of the corridor, where they fight Bennu, one of the Seventy-Seven Devils. After the fight, the masked man, calling himself the Schwarzritter, confronts them again and tells them they are in Phantasma, whose Lord wants them to suffer, before uncovering the path to the Second Plane and leaving.
