Campy's Who Wants to Be a Mirannaire? Trials in the Sky (カンパネルラの軌跡(キセキ)でポン！軌跡(キセキ)マスターへの道(みち)) is the fifth Sun Door in 영웅전설 하늘의 궤적 the 3rd. It is a quiz minigame hosted by Campanella.

The minigame returns in 영웅전설 시작의 궤적 with a similar format, with one major difference being Beryl taking the role of the host instead of Campanella.

Background

Sun Door 5 can be found on the 1st floor of the Black Ark's Forecastle. All level 5 quartz (ending with "Gem", save for the Time Gem) are required to be equipped by the active party or in the inventory:

Name Origin

In English, the title "Who Wants to Be a Mirannaire?" is a play on the famous United States game show Who Wants to Be a Millionare and the in-game currency called mira. The subtitle "Trials in the Sky" is an intentional misspelling of the name of the Trails in the Sky series to refer to the trial of this minigame.

In Japanese, it directly translates to Kiseki-De-Pon!. The subtitle "軌跡マスターへの道" directly translates to "Path toward a Kiseki Master".

Gameplay

The game is a quiz show with a structured question and answer format, structured into four rounds. The rounds are one of four difficulty levels, Normal (かんたん), Hard (ちょいムズ), Brutal (激ムズ), or Maniac (マニアック).

Each round contains ten multiple choice questions. The player must choose the right answer within seven seconds. If the player chooses the wrong answer or runs out of time for the question, one of three circles on the top of the screen (three strikes) turns from blue to gray. When all three are gray, the round ends with a "Game Over". When all ten questions are asked and answered without striking out, the player successfully passes the round and earns a rank, which determines the mira payout, described in a later section. If this is the first time passing this difficulty, the player will unlock the next higher difficulty and earn the specified reward listed above.

Each difficulty has a separate pool of 30 questions. They are randomly chosen and asked, randomly arranging the four possible answers. This table lists all of the possible questions in each difficulty arranged by how they appear in the game's files. When the player answers a question correctly, Campanella will give a unique comment elaborating on details about that question. These quotes are listed as well.

Score and rank

When asked questions, a timer counts down from 7.000 seconds (that is seven seconds with three significant decimal places). Depending on the amount of time left when the answer is selected, that many milliseconds are added to a cumulative time left score visible on screen. If the question is not answered correctly or time runs out, no points are added to the score.

At the end of the round, this time left score value is multiplied by two other values:

TIME LEFT SCORE × STRIKES LEFT × DIFFICULTY MULTIPLIER ＝ SCORE

The theoretical maximum score is 7 (seconds remaining) × 10 (questions) × 3 (strikes left) × 3 (Hard or Maniac difficulty) ＝ 630,000. This cannot be achieved as some number of milliseconds will always pass.

The resulting score is compared to the following table to determine the rank awarded.
