Background
The Gardenmaster acts as the leader of the remnants of 정원 following their demise. He seems to have come in to power after Swin and Nadia left Garden, and neither of them were told of his existence. He seems to have some connection to 그렌델 졸가 and Holo Core AI Altera, which appear to be the cause behind the bizarre murders in 이디스.[1]
Despite the identical voice and appearance, the Gardenmaster is not 에이스 레인. 100 years prior, a man named 오귀스트 알댕, a 칼바드ian revolutionary who worked alongside 시나 디르크, was executed after the revolution following ideological disagreements. Thanks to an unspecified 아티팩트 possessed by the D∴G 교단, Aldan's soul was preserved in the world, and it spent the next century as a parasite listening to the grudges and grievances of those wronged throughout history.
After the cult was destroyed, the artifact was passed down to its successor, 정원. Prior to his death, Garden member 멜키오르 used technologies originating from the cult to make a 시뮬라크라 of Ace Rayne, as combat data indicated his strength. After the Garden was destroyed, Aldan's soul, using the 8th Genesis given to him by 제라르 당테스, was able to take possession of Ace's body, also borrowing his memories and combat skills.

In Ace's AI-reconstructed body, Aldan declared himself the Gardenmaster, and using the 8th Genesis, constructed 그렌델 졸가 from the preserved-in-AI soul of 딩고 브래드, and also constructed the Holo Core AI Altera which was in reality a corruption of 라피스 로젠베르크. He set out on a campaign to gain the other Oct-Geneses, rewrite history to avenge the grudges of him and those who were wronged by history. He and Zolga have the ability to create "침식s" that alter people's memories and perceptions.
However, his plans were foiled thanks to Dingo's original personality gradually gaining control over Zolga (causing him to assist Van's group at several points using the moniker of <C>), as well as the capacity for the other Oct-Geneses to rewind time with memories preserved to give 반 아크라이드's group further attempts to stop him. On 네메스 섬, he used his appearance as Ace to convince his former partner, 스윈 아벨, to change sides via the corrosion. He later uses the corrosion to incite a coup d'etat attempt in 이디스, which is ultimately foiled. However, he is later able to spread the corrosion throughout the capital, ultimately rendering his plan successful before a time rewind foils it again.
When Van's team confronts him in his territory, the 허백의 언정, inside the 메르헨 가르텐, he attempts to kill 나디아 레인 (the true Ace's younger sister). This causes Swin's corrosion to wear off by proving that he is not actually Ace, and Swin returns to Van and Nadia's side. He then reveals his true identity and history to the party, before fighting them as Auguste in a demonic form once again, before finally being defeated and destroyed. Through his body, the spirit of the true Ace is able to spend a moment with Swin and Nadia afterwards.
