At the age of 17, he enrolls at the Thors Branch Campus as part of Class IX: Military Finance under instructor Towa Herschel. Pablo is fascinated with orbal trains and attempts to create a train appreciation club, but when no-one else has any interest, he panics about being sent o the student council. Rean helps him find Pablo and Valerie to start the Modern Music Club, thanks to his interest in Northern Rock. Pablo falls out with fellow club member Valerie when he asks her to do vocals, having heard her sing in private and thinking she had a fantastic voice. Rean helps bring them all together and Pablo states that background doesn't matter when it comes to rock and that he isn't afraid to associate with Valerie.
Pablo's interest in engineering comes in handy several times, with Rean requesting specific parts from him that he has in his train kit collections. He helps with the soldat maintenance and installation of components like boosters, and runs the weapon shop when on field exercises.
Pablo is also fascinated by the Derfflinger, and celebrates when it is his turn to drive it. He is also impressed the Courageous.
After the Great Twilight, Pablo comes and goes from Parm, gathering information. He was sheltered by the town, who were on guard when he said he had learned under Mint, but they soon warmed up to him. he passes on information about black Pleroma sightings and Tatiana's movements. he comes to assist them in Hamel and helps prepare the Soldats. He helps repair the distillery machine in Alster, sending Rean to help retrieve components. he, along with the other members of the Modern Music Club, help with the Arc en Ciel distraction performance, which marks the club's stage debut.
Pablo helps with the engineering on the Courageous II along with Tita Russell.
Pablo plays Vantage Masters against Crow Armbrust, placing his "favorite pin-up magazine" on the line as a bet. Crow is stunned to learn that the magazine in question contains pictures of trains and not girls in swimsuits, while Pablo labors under the impression that Crow himself has bet a train magazine.
Pablo remains a student of the Branch Campus. He welcomes Randy back from Crossbell and congratulates him on his success. He helps Tita as part of the Orbal Gear IV development team, but doesn't think he will be much use. At the Branch Campus festival, the Modern Music Club has its official debut, with the Derfflinger as the stage. He states he is now 'living the dream'.
