The Ancient Quarry (石切り場) is an ancient Neolithic ruin located in the Nord Highlands.
Background
Supposedly built and operated within the Dark Ages, the quarry lies abandoned in the present day. Entry is kept by two colossal stone stones, flanked on either side by two large statues of armor clad warriors. Within the quarry lie narrow passageways and dark tunnels with a gloomy atmosphere described as heavy, with several cocoon like structures and an eerie purple glow. The higher elements are active within the mine.
Local legends speak of an evil djinn sealed within the quarry, which turns out to be Ginosha-Zanak, a spider-like fiend of immense proportions.

Background
Following the attack on the Watchtower and Group A's investigation, they meet Millium Orion, who is also searching for the culprits and leads them to the Ancient Quarry. In the depths of the quarry they find Michael Gideon and the jaeger dropouts who carried out the attack. Group A and Millium try to arrest them, but after defeating them, Gideon uses the Demonic Flute to summon Ginosha-Zanak to eliminate both the jaegers and the group while he escapes.
Group A and Millium manage to drive off the fiend and rescue some of the culprits, arresting them and delivering them to Zender Gate.

Background
Clara is found camping outside the quarry and can be recruited to the Courageous early if Class VII enters the quarry and defeats Ginosha-Zanak again to get quality stone for her. During her time there, she's learned to make EX Orbs to increase Valimar's capabilities.

- The statues bear a strong resemblance to the Kin of Earth pictured in the flashback visuals in their fight against the Kin of Flames.
