Threat Letter Investigation (脅迫状の調査) is a story quest that occurs during 제2장 "금의 태양, 은의 달" in 영웅전설 제로의 궤적.

Background

The quest is given by Rixia Mao after finishing Support Requests.

Walkthrough

Part 1

1. Head to the Entertainment District and enter Arc en Ciel.
2. Enter the main hall for a scene.
3. Exit Arc en Ciel, head to the Back Alley and approach Revache & Co. for a scene.
   • BONUS: When asked about Garcia's reaction, choose:
     • The sender's name (+2 DP)
4. Head to West Street and enter the Grimwood Law Office for a scene.
5. Head to the Harbor District and knock on the door of Heiyue Trading, Ltd.
6. Enter, head to the top floor and enter Cao Lee's office for a scene.
7. Head to the Entertainment District and approach Arc en Ciel for a scene.
8. Enter Arc en Ciel and enter the main hall for a scene.
9. Return to Central Square through the Back Alley and approach the SSS building for a scene.
10. In the SSS building, head to the roof for a scene.

Part 2

1. Head to the IBC for a scene.
2. Enter the IBC and speak with Receptionist Lanfei.
3. Take the elevator to 16F and examine the door to Dieter's office.
4. Take the elevator and enter the terminal room for a scene.
5. Exit the IBC, head to the Administrative District and speak with Receptionist Shion in the Crossbell City Hall.
6. Head to the Residential District and unlock the door to the Geofront B Sector.
7. Enter and head east until the first fork, turn south and then east at the next fork.
8. Follow the path until the next fork and head east to the elevator and down to the 2nd floor.
9. Head east and follow the path until the fork, then head west.
10. Follow the path available and examine the valve to change the water level.
11. Go all the way east through the new path, then examine the valve north and head north.
12. Follow the path to the big room for a battle.
13. Head east and examine the door for a scene.
14. Exit the Geofront and travel to Ursula Road southwards for a scene.
15. Take the sidepath to Stargazer's Tower and approach the entrance for a scene.
16. Head through the door and enter Stargazer's Tower for a battle.
17. Climb Stargazer's Tower up to the 6th floor and go up the central ramp for a battle.
    • BONUS: After the battle, answer Yin's questions with the following choices:
      • Arc en Ciel (+1 DP if chosen first)
      • The threat letter (+2 DP if chosen first)
      • The author (+2 DP if chosen first)
      • The true purpose (+1 DP if chosen first)
18. In Arc en Ciel, do the following for a scene:
    • Speak with Karelia in the dressing room.
    • Speak with Manager Balsamo and Receptionist Rowland in the lobby.
    • Examine the door to the main hall.
    • Examine the door to the main and special balconies.
    • Enter the lobby. Exit and reenter if necessary.
19. Repeat the process two more times, then enter the right stairs for a scene.

Part 1

• The client is Rixia Mao, a new performer with Arc en Ciel who's rumored to have the potential to become their newest star.
• From what we were told, the troupe's leading star, Ilya Platiere, received an unsettling threat letter one week ago.
• Claiming it was nothing serious, and not wanting it to turn into a scene, Ilya chose to not consult the police, or even the bracers about it.
• Based on Rixia's explanation, this isn't something that should be taken lightly. We agreed to investigate.
• Let's start by heading to the theater and having Ilya show us the actual threat letter. The Arc en Ciel theater is in the Entertainment District.
• Arrived at the theater. They're in the middle of a rehearsal, but we were told we could come into the hall through the main door.
• Ilya gave us the letter. It demands the cancellation of their performance, and is signed by someone named Yin.
• We asked if anyone bore a grudge against Ilya. Apparently, the other day, Revache's Don Marconi made some rude remarks toward her at a party, and she slapped him.
• Next off, it may be dangerous, but we should pay a visit to Revache & Co. to follow up the possibility this is a grudge from them.
• Revache can be found in the Back Alley that connects the Entertainment District and Central Square.
• When we showed Garcia the letter, he claimed to know nothing, but seemed to react to seeing the name 'Yin.'
• Would the lawyer, Mr. Grimwood, know anything? He knows a lot about Revache. We should also be proactive about asking around if any potential leads come to mind.
• We stopped by Mr. Grimwood's office and told him what we know so far. He told us he doesn't know anything about this incident, but he did recognize the sender's name, Yin.
• According to Calvardian legend, Yin is a skilled assassin whose identity is shrouded in mystery. It's unclear whether or not he actually exists, or is simply an urban legend, however.
• Considering Garcia's reaction, it's possible Yin has some connection to Heiyue.
• For the time being, let's set aside Yin's motive for threatening Ilya and focus on investigating the possible connection between Yin and Heiyue.
• Heiyue Trading, Ltd.'s building is located in the Harbor District. Let's head there as soon as we can.
• We spoke to Branch Manager Cao Lee. We learned that not only does Yin exist, but that Yin also has a connection to Heiyue.
• If Yin is targeting Ilya for a personal reason, this may not be something we can solve.
• Detective Dudley from the First Investigative Division met us outside of the building. He had us brief him on our investigation.
• The First Division is to take over the case, and we are to return to our other duties.
• Let's return to Arc en Ciel and report this to Ilya.
• We reported the results of our investigation to Ilya and told her the First Division had taken over the case. We were able to convince her to let them guard the theater.
• It's evening. Let's return to the SSS.
• We reported what happened to Chief Sergei.
• We may be able to continue the investigation by making use of the SSS's unique advantages.

Part 2

• The First Division took over the investigation, but with the chief's support, we decided to continue our own investigation as well.
• We received an orbmail at the terminal this morning.
• The orbmail was from Yin. It read: 'Overcome this trial and face me. Only then will I grant you your mission.'
• It was sent from the International Bank of Crossbell, not the police HQ.
• Elie explained that the IBC's CEO, Mr. Dieter Crois, is her friend's father, and he might be willing to let us to investigate the IBC building to figure out who sent the message.
• Let's head to the IBC. We should also check for support requests again before we go.
• Arrived at the IBC. Let's ask at the reception desk if we can see Mr. Crois.
• Mr. Crois agreed to see us. Let's go to the top floor using the elevator.
• With the IBC's security, it is unlikely that someone could break in, but it appears to be possible that they may have been hacked.
• Mr. Crois has granted us permission to enter the terminal room. His daughter, Mariabell, agreed to show us the way there.
• The terminal room is on B5. Let's use the elevator.
• The terminal log indicates it was being remotely accessed when Yin's orbmail was sent to us.
• Though the hacker had cleared their tracks, we were able to identify the source terminal thanks to Tio and the other researchers.
• The source was control Terminal 8, located in the Geofront's B Sector. It's a separate area from the A Sector that we already explored and lies below the northwest part of the city.
• Let's go to City Hall and see if we can borrow the key.
• Borrowed the B Sector key from City Hall. The access door is located near the canal in the Residential District.
• Entered Geofront B Sector. Let's head to Control Terminal 8.
• In the terminal room, we found Jona, a boy hacker who claims to be an informant. He told us he sent the message at Yin's request and gave us a card from Yin.
• The card says: 'The door has been opened. I summon you to challenge me at the Tower of the Stars and hear my wish.'
• Jona has met Yin before, but he's never seen his face. Apparently, he always wears robes and never takes off his mask.
• The Tower of the Stars probably refers to Stargazer's Tower, which can be seen from Ursula Road. Looks like have no choice but to go check it out.
• We ran into Sergeant Major Seeker at the tower's entrance. While on patrol, she found the CGF barricade had been damaged and had just started investigating.
• We filled her in on our situation and she offered to help us investigate the tower.
• We're now exploring Stargazer's Tower, said to have been built during the Middle Ages. In addition to the basic elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, the higher elements of time, space, and mirage are active here.
• The monsters wandering around don't look like any we've ever seen before. Could they be part of Yin's trap, too? Either way, we should be careful as we continue.
• Met Yin on the tower's top floor. He tested our mettle in combat, and seemed to be satisfied. We asked him what he wanted.
• As we suspected, the threat letter was not written by Yin. Someone else must have been responsible. Yin requested we seek out and stop whoever the real culprit is.
• Yin's request notwithstanding, we can't afford to let the real culprit continue to act. We decided we'd patrol the theater during Arc en Ciel's performances.
• As soon as we finished talking, Yin made his escape. We pursued him to the rooftop, but it seems he leapt from the tower and got away.
• On the day of the preview performance, I entrusted the perimeter patrol to Randy, Tio, and Zeit, while Elie and I patrolled indoors.
• The plan is to check with the staff and comb the theater for anything out of the ordinary.
• Act 1 is over, and Act 2 is about to start. Let's patrol again.
• Act 2 is over, and Act 3 is about to start. The performance is at its halfway point. Let's stay on guard.
• When the final act was about to begin, we received a report from Manager Balsamo of a suspicious guest! The person wasn't on the invitee list, and appears to have snuck in to monitor the section S seats from the stairwell.
• The suspicious guest was Grace. We asked her why she snuck in, and she told us about the sinister rumors she'd heard regarding Ernest, Mayor MacDowell's secretary.
• Putting that together with what we already knew, it all made sense! We rushed to the VIP seats to find Ernest attacking the mayor!
• He managed to escape, but he was captured by Tio, Randy, and Zeit outside.
