Academy Life - July (７月の学院生活) is a story quest that occurs during 제4장 "진홍의 제도 ~하지제~" in 영웅전설 섬의 궤적.
Background
The quest is automatically acquired at the beginning of Chapter 4.
Walkthrough
7/17
- Play the swimming minigame.
- BONUS: Ending in 1st place in the swimming race earns 3 AP. Ending in 2nd place earns 1 AP. The race can be retried as many times as necessary.
- Exit Thors for a scene.
- BONDING: Before leaving Thors, approach Emma behind the storehouse in the Academy Field to earn 50 Link EXP between Rean and Emma.
- In the dormitory, if Emma wasn't approached before leaving Thors, head to her room for a scene, then return to Rean's room.
7/18
- Check all requests.
- Complete Old Schoolhouse Mystery IV.
- Attempt to leave the academy for a scene.
- Speak with the following people:
- Laura in the Gymnasium
- Fie behind the storehouse in the Academy Field.
- Towa and Angelica in the Student Council Room on the Student Union's 2nd floor.
- Attempt to leave the academy for a scene and a battle.
- PARTY: Crow will join the battle after taking Ol-Gadia down to half health, and Rean will fully recover HP, EP and CP.

- Choose a partner and defeat the enemies.
- BONUS: Using an S-Craft during the battle earns 1 AP.
- BONUS: Winning the battle without using items earns 1 AP.

- 7/17 (Sat) After School
- I raced Instructor Sara and Gaius during today's swimming lesson.
- I put everything I had into both races and won! (When ending the race in 1st place)
- I swam as hard as I could and was able to beat Gaius, but not Instructor Sara. (When ending the race in 2nd place)
- I swam as hard as I could, but I still came in dead last during the second race... (When ending the race below 2nd place)
- After our race, we watched Laura and Fie race each other. Fie tore down the pool, but Laura managed to win by a nose. She still didn't seem satisfied, however.
- During homeroom after school, we discussed Heimdallr's Summer Festival. Apparently, it's held in July to commemorate the end of the War of the Lions.
- Everyone seemed to expect me to do something about the tense situation between Laura and Fie... Still, there's not much that I can do about it.
- I thought I heard someone talking on the field... (Optional)
- Behind the storehouse, I found Emma looking after the beautiful black cat that scratched my hand a while back. I learned her name is Celine. (Optional)
- I said goodbye to Emma, who was returning to Trista to give Celine back to her owners. I wish she'd bond with me like that... Celine, not Emma. (Optional)
- As I walked through the front gate, I was stopped by Instructor Neithardt, who gave me some criticism about last month's field study. I can't let myself get lazy--I need to work harder.
- Just as he was about to tell me about Instructor Sara's past, she came out of nowhere and started arguing with him. Those two get along like cats and dogs...
- Then came Instructor Thomas from out of nowhere, who, completely unperturbed by their obvious dislike of his company, led them both off to drink with him. ...He's much more formidable than I thought. I better not let my guard down around him.
- I decided to walk around the dormitory for a while before going to sleep.
- That night, I heard the sound of something crying inside the dormitory. It sounded like it was coming from the third floor, so I went to take a look.
- The source of the crying was a cat Emma was taking care of in her room--the same cat that scratched me a while ago. I learned her name is Celine.
- After a little chat, I left Celine to Emma and went back to my room.
- 7/18 (Sun) Free Day
- This morning, as usual, a number of requests arrived for me to complete. The only mandatory one was the exploration of the old schoolhouse, but I tried to do the others before I headed over.
- As I walked towards the old schoolhouse, Patrick came to stop me. He's still chewing over what happened during our practical exam last month... Maybe he's not as bad as I thought he was.
- We finished this month's exploration of the old schoolhouse. I'm curious about the red door that appeared on the fourth floor, but all I wanted to do then was go back to the dorms.
- As we approached the front gate of the academy, we ran right into Elise.
- She came all the way here from Heimdallr because she objected to something I wrote to her in my last letter.
- When I told her that I wasn't going to change my mind about leaving home, she got really angry and ran away. I even saw tears in her eyes.
- We all agreed to split up and start looking for her. I needed to find her, no matter what.
- Towa and Angelica agreed to help search, too.
- I found Fie searching around the field for Elise and left that area to her.
- I found Laura searching for her in the gymnasium. I stopped to talk to her for a few moments, and she made me realize an unpleasant truth.
- Unable to find her on campus, I tried to search for her in town until Crow stopped me.
- Crow saw Elise with Patrick on the path behind the main building which leads to the old schoolhouse. He agreed to show me the way as I started getting overcome by dread.
- We found Patrick standing alone in front of the old schoolhouse. Worse yet, we also found the door unlocked. Elise had gone inside.
- The three of us raced in after her, and when we reached the fourth floor, we found Elise lying on the ground in front of a giant suit of armor. Suddenly, everything went red.
- Driven by an uncontrollable impulse, I started fighting the suit of armor--but I wasn't willing to let myself be consumed by my 'power,' so I did all that I could to suppress it.
- Fortunately, Crow came to my aid. Leaving Patrick to take care of Elise, Crow and I fought the suit of armor together.
- After a vicious battle, the armor finally fell. Elise was unharmed, too. Thank goodness...
- Afterwards, my classmates, George, Towa, and Instructor Sara arrived, and everything went back to normal.
- 7/19 (Mon) AM - Trista Station
- After a night of rest at our dormitory, the time came for Elise to board the train to return to Heimdallr.
- We couldn't help but ponder the meaning of the words Elise heard when she stood in front of the red door and how the suit of armor worked...but no matter how much we thought about it, it didn't bring us any closer to the truth.
- Either way, there definitely seems to be something lurking within the old schoolhouse-- and despite Instructor Sara's objections, we resolved to continue our investigation of it.
- Everything that happened allowed me to realize that, while I still have a long way to go, I'm slowly developing as a person during my time here. I'm still not sure what to do about taking after my dad...but I hope to one day be able to give an answer that will satisfy everyone.
- We saw Elise off, promising to meet again in the near future.
- 7/21 (Wed) Practical Exam
- Having completely recovered from the incident a few days prior, I took part in this month's practical exam as I normally would.
- I paired up with Alisa, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- I paired up with Elliot, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- I paired up with Machias, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- I paired up with Emma, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- I paired up with Jusis, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- I paired up with Gaius, and together, we fought against Laura and Fie in a mock battle.
- We fought well together, defeating Laura and Fie with ease and earning a high grade. (When earning 2 bonus AP)
- We fought well together, successfully defeating Laura and Fie and earning a relatively high grade. (When earning 1 bonus AP)
- We barely defeated Laura and Fie, earning a relatively mediocre grade for our efforts. (When earning no bonus AP)
- They definitely didn't seem to be at their best, though... I really wish we could do something to improve their relationship with one another.
- Afterwards, our groups and destinations for this month's field study were announced. They are: Group A: Rean, Laura, Fie, Machias, Elliot (Study Location: Heimdallr, the Vermillion Capital) Group B: Alisa, Emma, Jusis, Gaius (Study Location: Heimdallr, the Vermillion Capital) Surprisingly, this month all of us will be going to Heimdallr, where the Summer Festival will soon be taking place.
