Watch Officer Gerwin, a NPC met at 볼프 요새

Watch Officer Gerwin is a soldier serving in the 왕국군.

He's stationed at the 볼프 요새 checkpoint that lies on the border between 리벨 and the Calvard Republic and heads the border patrol stationed there.

Unlike the garrison stationed at 하켄 게이트, the border patrol on the border with 칼바드 is rather small. There's the Chief Watch Officer Pace, who believes that not making any waves and keeping things relaxed at the checkpoint is the best way to avoid straining the relationship with 칼바드 and is running very lenient policies because of that. There's also Private Brahm who sleeps on duty all the time and Private Henning who skips shifts every now and then. Finally, there's Watch Officer Gerwin, who's a motivated and loyal soldier and who feels like he's the only soldier at the fort who's actually trying to do his job. While he's frequently filed complaints about his fellow soldiers to his superior, none of his complaints has ever resulted in a change of policies and Gerwin has pretty much resigned himself to the status quo.

While CWO Pace believes that keeping things laid-back will keep the relationship with 칼바드 on good terms, Gerwin isn't so sure. He's a bit distrustful of 칼바드 and believes 리벨 and 칼바드 are mostly on friendly terms because they both have the 에레보니아n Empire to worry about and that if the situation were to change, 칼바드 could become a liability to the country due to 리벨's septium reserves being in high demand. Because of that, Gerwin insists on keeping a sharp eye on their neighbors.

While Gerwin sees CWO Pace as too soft, Pace sees Gerwin as impulsive and too eager to rush into things.

After the attack on Central Factory, security is briefly tightened at 볼프 요새 too, but a command from the top to call off inspections soon arrives, baffling Gerwin, since the culprits behind the attack haven't been caught yet. Gerwin urges CWO Pace to ignore the top brass and continue inspections, but Pace isn't someone who ignores orders from the top. Nevertheless, while Pace can't continue the security inspections, he's still in a position to tighten ordinary border security, effectively circumventing the orders and somewhat giving Gerwin his wish.
