Monika is an inhabitant of the town of Zeiss.
She's a young woman who's usually found near the Bell Station General Store.
The day Estelle and Joshua arrive in town, Monika gets asked by her father to go shopping to get some food. This proves to be a bigger problem for her than she thought at first. Monika's father is an orbal engineer and some of his technical-mindedness most likely rubbed off on his daughter.
She has often shopped for orbal parts, which she finds easy since electronic parts usually have labels with the technical specs written out, making it easy for her to determine exactly which article she needs. Since bread doesn't have technical specifications, she finds it extremely difficult to make a choice. Because of this, she has a slightly easier time with canned goods than with bread, vegetables or fruit.
Eventually, she comes up with a way to circumvent her dilemma; she simply picks the item furthest on the right of the display shelf whenever she cannot make up her mind.
