Septium (七耀石 | <br>Septium (七耀石) is a group of seven types of crystals that hold the power of seven elements, found and actively mined across Zemuria.
== | == Background == | ||
Septium crystals have been viewed as symbols of mystery since ancient times. Their light attracts monsters, larger crystals can be cut into valuable gemstones, and they are used in magic such as Thaumaturgy. However their value increased drastically with the Orbal Revolution, as they could be crafted into quartz, which allow orbments to function and manifest useful phenomenon.
{| class="article-table" | == Sepith ==
Sepith (七耀石の欠片) are septium fragments too small to be cut into gemstones. While worthless in the past, they can still be refined into quartz in large amounts or traded in orbal factories in exchange for currency.
Sepith can be obtained from many sources, but defeating monsters is the main source of sepith. Each monster will drop a different set of sepith once defeated, including sepith mass from Sen I onwards, which can only be traded for mira. The amount of sepith obtained from monsters can be increased through turn order bonuses or special quartz.
== Elements == | |||
Septium, like orbal arts, comes in the seven elemental varieties. Of these, Earth, Water, Fire and Wind are considered the basic, lower or traditional element, while Time, Space and Mirage are considered the higher elements. While the lower elements are always present, the higher elements only become apparent in places of otherworldly presence, temporarily or permanently.
Enemies always have vulnerabilities to the basic elements present. When these vulnerabilities are higher or lower than normal, orbal arts of the corresponding element will deal more or less damage (even reducing it to no damage). Arts of the higher elements will always be considered neutral unless they are present in the area, in which case enemies will also display different vulnerabilites to them.
Each element has a corresponding Sept-Terrion and Holy Beast, capable of creating septium of their element at will.

Septium crystals have been viewed as symbols of mystery since ancient times.
