Elements (属性, zokusei) is a general grouping of the seven possible types of Septium crystals, and thus of the type of orbal energy released by these.
Each element is attributed to a Sept-Terrion and by consequence to an Holy Beast.
Monsters and other entities who are attracted and fed by Septium present different affinities to elements: often depending on the environment surrounding the creatures, some of these may present weaknesses or resistances to particular elements.
Traditional Elements
The traditional elements or four basic elements (４属性, yonzokusei) are the four elements normally present in Zemuria. Normal monsters are naturally weaker or stronger to these four elements.

Higher Elements
The higher elements (上位属性, jōizokusei) are the three elements not commonly found in nature. They possess otherwordly powers, and during certain occasions they may be present or activate in areas full of spiritual energy, often causing fiends (or sometimes even Devils) to appear.

Characters able to sense Higher Elements
Humans aren't normally able to tell when these elements are present, with the exception of those who possess higher sensitivity to orbal energy or who possess specific abilities, like bearers of a Stigma.
Here is a list of characters who are able to detect the higher elements in order of direct confirmation:
- Kevin Graham, possessor of a Stigma.
- Ries Argent, high sensitivity (possibly due to working as a Gralsritter and getting used to them)
- Tio Plato, higher sensitivity due to Gnosis intake.
- Wazy Hemisphere, possessor of a Stigma.
- Emma Millstein, member of the Hexen Clan.
- Gaius Worzel, possesses the ability of reading the Gale of Ruin. Later on also possessor of a Stigma.
- Celine Millstein, member of the Hexen Clan.
- Rean Schwarzer, user of the Unclouded Eye, as well as being mixed with Ishmelga.
- Musse Egret, affinity to the Magic of the Hexens.
- Altina Orion, higher sensitivity due to being an Homunculus.
- Renne, higher sensitivity due to Gnosis intake.
- Van Arkride, higher sensitivity due to being one of the Five Demon Lords, as well as Gnosis intake.
