The Dark Ages (暗黒時代(あんこくじだい)) was an era in the history of 제무리아 from the 대붕괴 (c. S.0) to S.500.

Background

The Dark Ages are known for the constant formation and usurpation of small countries. It was a period marked by bloodshed and poverty^[1]and noted for its loss of culture and technology.

There are still a number of constructions built during the Dark Ages to be found in 제무리아, such as:

그란셀 대성당 in 리벨
The 정령굴, built by the 그노움 after the 대붕괴
The catacombs beneath 칼바드's former royal capital 오라시온
헤임달 대성당 in 에레보니아 and its former capital (known now as the 헤임달 지하묘지) built during the first Century below the current 헤임달
The Sanctuary of the Dark Dragon, hidden within a phase space in the 헤임달 지하묘지.
The aqueduct in the Imperial capital's 헤임달#Leica District
Ruins of 안개 협곡's eastern mountains
The 살바드 Underground Waterway, dated using mural evidence
리벨's four 사륜의 탑
Several ruins on 네메스 섬
Circular stone huts, reminiscent of igloos, on 브리오니아섬, once inhabited by animist settlers
The 채석장, built in the 노르드 고원 by its 거석문명
Neolithic Stone Circles, found both in Nord and 끌레이유
주노 해상 요새 in the 라마르 주 of 에레보니아
The labyrinth beneath the 구교사 of 토르즈 사관학교

Organizations with roots dating back to this period include:

During this period, 검은 알베리히 gave the mages of Erebonia the knowledge needed to create autonomous golems known as Magic Knights in order to counter the powers of a 기신. The powerful quartz-like gemstones known as 로스트 아츠 were also created during the Dark Ages.
