The 9th Armored Division (第九機甲師団), also known as the Armor Batallion "Schneizel" (戦車大隊《シュナイゼル》), is stationed in the eastern half of Erebonia and was responsible for guarding its eastern border after the annihilation of the Garrelia Fortress.
In March S.1205, it held off the invading 2nd Area Division of the Republic Army of Calvard near the eastern Tangram Gate, Imperial Territory of Crossbell.
