도력기

Orbments (導力器(オーブメント)) are mechanical devices which operate by using what is known as orbal energy. A variety of effects can be produced depending on their structure and the type of quartz installed. Although it was only during the Orbal Revolution in S.1150 that these devices were invented, they quickly became an integral part in all facets of life, e.g. lights, heaters, domestic devices, weapons, magic, and airships.

Background

The orbment was developed from observation and application of the orbal phenomenon, discovered by C. Epstein. He developed eight prototype orbments, the Oct-Genesis to demonstrate this principle.

Epstein envisioned Zemuria as co-existing with the world and orbal technology leading to a better quality of life. He believed astrology was the foundation of learning and stated that the orbment was a device that 'allowed people to meddle with the world'.
