Background

Sophie Claudel was born in S.1170 to Lilia Claudel and was raised by her as a single parent. They lived together in Edith, the capital of Calvard, where her mother worked at the Aramis Academy school store. One day, when Sophie accompanied her mother to the academy, she met Roy Gramheart, the student council president of S.1179. Because of the eight‑year age gap between them, Roy began looking after her like a little sister. As time passed, however, their relationship deepened, and they eventually fell in love. Roy later proposed to her on the observation deck of Trion Tower, and she happily accepted.

After her mother passed away in S.1188, Sophie inherited the diaries of her adoptive grandfather, Claude Epstein. On July 12th, S.1192, she gave birth to her daughter, Agnès Claudel. Gramheart, however, was unable to be present for the birth due to his military duties in the Republican Army of Calvard.

When Gramheart left the military and began his political career, Sophie also became extremely busy, leaving her with little time to spend with Agnès. Because of this, Sophie and Roy made a point of meeting with their daughter at Trion Tower whenever they could, sharing stories about their family and their past.

Around S.1204, Sophie’s health began to decline. As her condition worsened, Agnès and Roy stayed by her side, grieving as they realized she would not recover. Sophie passed away not long afterward, prompting her husband to immerse himself even further in his political career and unintentionally straining his relationship with their daughter. Meanwhile, Agnès turned her attention more deeply toward her great‑grandfather’s diaries, seeking comfort and understanding in his writings.
