The Eisenritter (
Background
The Eisenritter played a crucial role in supporting Emperor Dreichels during the War of the Lions in Erebonia. The Eisenritter were led by St. Lianne Sandlot and they gathered in the Lohengrin Castle off the coast near Legram approximately 250 years ago.
A book in Crossbell states that the Eisenritter were known for employing cavalry and that this may be the origin of the adoption of golden stallion as the Empire's sigil. Jusis Albarea also states that the Empire's cavalry's lance and spear training has its origins in the tales of the Eisenritter, among other things. Wallace Bardias accredits the Eisenritter's techniques as one of the influences for his family's Spearmansship style. There are also traditional charms that trace back to the knights and knowledge of pretzels, which the knights are said to have used as rations on the battlefield.
For inhabitants of Legram it is a custom to hold an annual memorial service for St. Sandlot and the Eisenritter. There are also traditional charms that trace back to the knights. The second-in-command of the Eisenritter, Shion Arseid, wielded the Galland-Sharl, a two-handed greatsword that is now passed down in the Arseid family and is currently in the possession of Victor S. Arseid.
Laura S. Arseid notes the connection in naming between the Eisenritter of the past and the Stahlritter operating for Ouroboros in the present day. Duvalie refuses to confirm this at the time, but it is later confirmed Liane and Arianrhod are one and the same. Therefore, the organisations share their origins with the Lance Maiden. Aurelia Le Guin directly calls the group their successors.
